It is no big secret that I love reality tv. Mock me if you must but I will own it: I love my reality tv shows. I have always maintained some sort of fascination with the celebrity world, I’m not sure why and I cannot explain any bit of it except that it peaks my interest. Maybe I get it from my grandmother who I remember always watching ET at 6 pm, or maybe the answer is found in the fact that I was a young girl once who bought teeny-bop-er magazines and crushed on young Hollywood stars. Whatever the culprit this is who I am and at least sam loves me for it. One of my favorite shows right now is Giuliana and Bill. As ridiculous as it may sound, and even admit, I find that I identify with Giuliana in many ways. As I watched last season I saw her deal with fears in ways that I deal with fears and face big demons all while in four-inch heels. If I were as skinny as she and had an expendable checking account I too might wear four-inch heels though I am convinced she has lost all feeling in her toes from doing so. Sure beauty is pain, who hasn’t heard or even said that, but really the reality of shooting pain and numb toes as an exchange for the definition of beauty is lost on me. I’ll take my flats, thankyouverymuch. This was supposed to have a point, but I don’t think it does. I guess what I’ve noticed, as an avid reality tv watcher, is that there are not many programs out there in tv land that portray genuine people the way Giuliana and Bill do. Sure they are rich, they are famous, but there is a different “air” about them… something genuine perhaps. Now maybe I’m crazy, and I haven’t ruled out that possibility, but I must say I am a fan and I will continue to watch. And if you are wondering what this reality tv craze is all about, even though it’s been around for a bit now, take my suggestion and watch an episode of Giuliana and Bill. If nothing else I can guarantee you will laugh… even if you decide it’s not for you in the end.

  2. I believe you, though not sure if it counts because I have never seen the show. I hear what you're saying about the heels. Give me my geriatric shoes- thankyouverymuch!

PS- I love you, along with Sam, knowing you watch trash. ;)
